IMF loan to Pakistan \\ Pakistan's total loan from IMF

                        IMF LOAN TO PAKISTAN

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has provided several loans to Pakistan over the years, with the most recent being a three-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program worth $6 billion that was approved in July 2019.

The EFF program aimed to support Pakistan's economic reform efforts, particularly in the areas of fiscal consolidation, energy sector reforms, and structural reforms to boost economic growth. However, the program faced significant challenges and delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other economic and political factors.

In April 2021, the IMF and Pakistan reached a new agreement on a $500 million disbursement under the EFF program, following Pakistan's implementation of several key economic reforms.

Overall, IMF loans to Pakistan have been aimed at supporting the country's economic reform efforts and addressing its balance of payments and fiscal challenges. However, the success of these loan programs depends on the effective implementation of economic reforms by the Pakistani government.

      Pakistan's total loan from IMF:

Pakistan has received several loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the years. According to IMF data, as of September 2021, Pakistan's outstanding loans from the IMF totaled around $5.8 billion.

This includes loans from different programs, such as the current three-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program worth $6 billion, which was approved in July 2019. However, the disbursement of this loan has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other economic and political factors.

Pakistan's previous IMF programs have included the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) program in 2008-2011, the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program in 2013-2016, and the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program in 2019-2022.

It is important to note that the success of IMF loan programs depends on the effective implementation of economic reforms by the Pakistani government, which is essential to address the country's economic challenges and achieve sustained economic growth.
